About

Bringing my imagination to life.

I'm Ryuu, a French cosplayer since 2010. I design and make my costumes to bring to life the characters that have stayed with me. I discovered cosplay in 2009, at my first Japan Expo. I was immediately drawn in and captivated by this discipline I knew nothing about. Once I realized I could make my own costumes, I started learning to sew and craft my accessories, spending my free time on it for several years. I went on to make about a dozen costumes under the name Ryuu Seika, captured in photo shoots and worn on stage.

What I love is being able to embody characters with strong identities, sometimes very different from my own. Every costume pays tribute to a universe that stayed with me. Since I'm naturally curious, the versatility of cosplay lets me touch on everything: sewing, sculpting, hair styling, makeup, stage performance... And the challenge goes beyond physical likeness — you also have to match the character's attitude. With every costume, I unlock a new skill, and I love it!

In 2016, I became a mother. For ten years I poured my energy into my two daughters while expressing my creativity through other disciplines. Dance was one of them. I worked on modern jazz and contemporary for three years. Each gala took a full year of preparation for one weekend on stage.

Dance galas made me realize that what I loved was expressing myself through a character. I missed cosplay. I'm coming back to it today with more energy and a more open artistic mind than at the start.
